The Anatomy of the Japanese Koto
The Koto is a traditional plucked half-tube zither instrument, and the national instrument of Japan. Traditionally carved from Paulownia wood (Kiri), its strings stretch across movable bridges known as Ji, allowing players to adjust tuning for each piece.
